Jubilee Celebrations Reminder

A few parents have been asking what the arrangements are for our Jubilee celebrations:

• On Thursday we are having a Jubilee party in school in the afternoon, like we did last year for the Royal Wedding - http://parkfield.typepad.com/parkfield/2011/04/royal-wedding-playground-party.html. Children need to wear school uniform as normal and you should have been given a letter asking for food donations.
• On Friday it is the PTFA Garden Party after school (which includes the Summer Fayre). Children may wear: red, white and blue clothes and the forfeit is a bottle. Here is the letter about the balloon race also being held - http://parkfield.typepad.com/files/jubilee-balloon-race.pdf

Water Bottles Reminder

A quick reminder that children should bring a water bottle with them to school every day so that they can keep hydrated - especially in this hot weather that we are having at the moment.

Non-Uniform Day on Friday 18th May Reminder

A quick reminder that it is a non-uniform day tomorrow - the forfeit is some chocolate.

LIFE BUS for PARENTS

The life bus is visiting Parkfield over the next two days. If you would like to know what happens on the bus all adults are welcome to visit and ask questions on Tuesday between 9.00 and 9.15am.

Scout Association - St George's Day

Children who are a member of: Beavers, Cubs, Scouts or Girl Guides may come to school wearing their club uniform on Monday to celebrate St George's Day.

Snowdon Climb Postponed

The Mount Snowdon climb has now been postponed until further notice due to a severe weather warning.

Easter Notices - Summer Term Begins 16th April

• Congratulations to all the children who won prizes this morning in church for having the best decorated eggs and bonnets on Wednesday - they each received a yummy chocolate egg!
• A reminder that Harold Street will be closed to traffic on 4th and 5th of April - more details here.
• Good luck to Gillian Nesbitt who will be doing a sponsored parachute jump during the holidays to help raise money for National Autism Day, the same charity that the children raised over £100 for on 'Wacky Hair Day' a few weeks ago.
• Please remember to keep collecting the Sainsbury and Tesco vouchers - there are two boxes in the entrance to put them in.
• Mr Kemp has put some new writing tasks onto Edmodo for children to try doing over Easter - just click on the 'Assignments Due' link in the top right-hand corner once logged in.
• For Year 6 children who want to do some SATs revision, please have a look at this page on the website for lots of useful links/resources, as well as http://www.parkfieldict.co.uk/sats/

Last Day Reminders

• Our annual Easter service at Holy Trinity Church is due to start at 9:30am tomorrow. Church will be open from 9.00am should you wish to get in early and claim a good seat! The whole school will be attending the service and some of our children will have prepared short readings.
• Remember it's the PTFA Easter egg hunt tomorrow at 2pm - only 50p to enter!
• Also, don't forget to bring your completed decorated carboard eggs in too along with your 50p entry fee!

Egg Decorating and Easter Bonnet Competitions

All children can decorate an egg or design a ‘bonnet’ to enter these competitions. An assembly will take place on Wednesday 28th in the hall. Children need to bring in their decorated eggs on the morning of that Wednesday into the hall. There will be tables with each year group written on them. They will have to put their name and class on each egg. They can wear their bonnets in the assembly so that we can have a short parade. Revn. Wall will be helping to judge who the winners are!

Harold Street Closure over Easter
