Reception children have been enjoying inviting some of their parents in on Friday afternoons to take part in 'peer-massage' sessions.
Back in the Autumn term we held a 'Pod Landing' week in school. All the staff (with the help of Mrs Jeffries' art skills) have put together a big booklet showcasing all the cross-curricular work the children produced, inspired by this strange event. You can view this book in the main entrance however I also thought it would be nice if I put a copy of it online so you can see at home how fantastic it is!
Pierre Bear arrived in reception class today - having travelled all the way from France!
He will be staying with us until the summer to teach us some French words and about life in France.
Some children will also be able to take him home as well to help him learn about life in England.
The Life Education Caravan returned for its annual visit this week.
Every class visited inside it to find out about a range of age-appropriate topics to do with their bodies - from staying healthy through exercise and good diet in reception to learning about the different drug classifications and how to respond to peer-pressure in year six.

Reception went on a lovely spring walk yesterday morning around Archer Park and posted a letter off to see if Pierre Bear will come and visit!

Every class has enjoyed writing and acting something this week in front of the 'green screen' we hired. Mr Haughton has then magically transformed this dull backdrop into a variety of different settings...

Some of our Year 5 and 6 children have been organising and running a variety of lunchtime clubs to help our KS1 children have fun and get better with some of their reading and maths.
Everyone enjoyed celebrating World Book Day today by coming into school dressed as their favourite story book characters. The teachers also enjoyed visiting different classes and reading extracts from their favourite books to the children.

I was given some more photos today of our children working on the banners of the school houses that are now displayed in the hall.
The whole school enjoyed eating their traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings yesterday as it started to snow outside. A huge thank-you to all the kitchen staff for preparing this delicious meal!
KS1 enjoyed having their Christmas party today. In the morning they enjoyed watching a film and making some party hats, then in the afternoon they played some fun games and even had a visit from Father Christmas!
